Instructions For Easy Christmas Tree Cupcakes

    Prepare the Ice Cream Cones:
Using a serrated knife, carefully and slowly cut the ice cream cones down to your preferred size. Rotate the cone as you cut for a cleaner result. Don’t worry if the cuts aren’t perfect; you can fix imperfections with buttercream.

    Frost the Cupcakes:
Add about ½ cup of white frosting to a piping bag fitted with a 1M tip. Starting in the center of each cupcake, pipe a star, then create a circle of frosting around the star to form a rosette. Apply even and steady pressure for consistent results.

    Place the Cones:
Stand the trimmed ice cream cones upright in the frosting. Add extra frosting to one side if needed to balance them and ensure they stand straight.

    Decorate the Trees:
Dye the remaining frosting green and add it to a piping bag fitted with a small star tip. Pipe stars starting from the bottom of each cone, working your way to the top. You can sprinkle the trees with colorful sprinkles or a dusting of powdered sugar for a snowy effect.

Pro Tip: To avoid stars with “tails,” squeeze, stop squeezing, and then pull away.

Yes! Sugar cones work too, but their shape may differ slightly. Choose the one you prefer for your tree style.

How do I prevent the cones from tipping over?
Apply extra frosting to one side of the cone as needed to balance it. Gently press the cone into the frosting base to secure it.
