    Keto Air fryer Fried Pickles

These keto air fryer-fried pickles without almond flour are made delicious with just the right amount of crunch! They're made with pork rinds, which replace traditional bread crumbs for a low-carb alternative that keeps them crunchy without sacrificing flavor! To help the egg mixture stick better, I also dust them in coconut flour which is also very low in carbs.

Simple Ingredients for Air Fryer Fried Pickles

    • Dill Pickle Slices - You can use whatever brand you like best but make sure to check the label and get one without added sugar.
    • Pork Rinds (crushed) - I used plain pork rinds so they would be 0 carbs.
    • Coconut Flour- I used just a little coconut flour to dust the pickles and make the egg stick better.
    • Large Egg - This is to make the pork rinds stick to the pickles.
    • Garlic Powder
    • Paprika
    • Black Pepper
    • salt - to taste.
    • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

How To Make Air Fryer Pickles With Pork Rinds

The air fryer is a great way to cook food with less oil and fat. This is definitley an air fryer recipe for beginners so if you are new to using an air fryer these pickles are an easy recipe that takes only minutes!

bowl of uncooked scrambled eggs with a small whisk in the bowl on a kitchen towel
crushed pork rinds in a zip lock bag with a rolling pin on top of it and pickles around it

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.

Whisk one large egg in a small bowl. Add pork rinds to a large Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to crush up the pork rinds. You could also use a food processor if you prefer.

First, spray non-stick cooking spray on cooking trays or the basket.  Arrange the pickles in a single layer and spray the top of them with cooking spray to help them get crispy.  Air fry for 10-12 minutes.

Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in small batches.

Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, like our French Fry Dipping Sauce! Also, keto ranch is a great option! I love this Keto Ranch recipe by Kicking Carbs it is very tasty!

    Frequently Asked Questions:

    Are pickles carb free?

Yes, that's one reason I love pickles! They're low in carbs and can be considered a "free" food when following the keto or carbohydrate-limited diets. When buying your dill pickles make sure to use a brand that doesn't have any added sugar.

What are the best pickles for this recipe?

I like to use a sugar-free dill pickle and you can use whichever brand is your favorite.

Can I make keto fried pickles in the oven?

Absolutely, you can make these in the oven if you don't have an air fryer.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. While the oven preheats either spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper. Place pickles on a baking sheet and spray the tops with noncook cooking spray and cook for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
