Ok, these are INCREDIBLE heath bar cookies! This cookie recipe is talked about at every party or family dinner that I bring them to. Made with milk chocolate heath bar toffee bits, these are the most amazing gooey cookies!
The Best Cookies:
These started out as just a fun substitution for chocolate chips in our cookies, but once we realized how amazing the heath bar bits were in the gooey cookies, I decided to vamp up the recipe to fit the flavor even better.
So I made sure to give these cookies a good amount of brown sugar to add that really caramelly flavor to the cookie itself. The edges get nice and crisp after cooling but the inside is nice and chewy. Perfect 🙂
Making Heath Bar Cookies:
Start out by mixing the wet ingredients in a large bowl and dry in another bowl. Then add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Trust me, you don't want to skip the separate mixing step. I tried it once and just threw everything in together and, wow, it made a difference. The butter didn't quite mix right with the flour, it took longer to combine fully, and then the cookies came out flat and not quite as good.
Once you've mixed everything, add in the Milk Chocolate Heath Bar Bits and combine. I like to cook all my cookies on some parchment paper because it helps them to cook more evenly and guarantees no sticking (especially in a recipe with sticky toffee bits in it) without adding any extra grease. Make sure there is enough room between each ball of dough for the cookies to spread as they bake- about an inch or 2.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes at 375 or until they look golden brown around the edges. Let them cool at least a little (I know it's hard to wait) and then gobble these heath bar cookies up with a glass of your favorite milk, tea, or coffee. (My secret treat in the morning with my coffee- so amazing)! Enjoy!
