Fry Sauce
Fry sauce is an actual thing in Utah and I've heard it's amazing but I've never actually had it. It's composed of mayo, ketchup, and some pickle juice apparently which sounds interesting right? If I'm ever in Utah I'll give it a go 😉
I had actually never heard of the Utah Fry sauce when I decided to make our french fry dipping sauce. We just like yummy delicious things especially when it's dipping and dunking goodness.
The inspiration for this dipping sauce actually came from the fact that my daughter and hubby dude are dairy free and we wanted some creamy things for our food still.
French Fry Dipping Sauce
This sauce is made up of mayo, ketchup, some sriracha for that heat kick, and some honey, rice vinegar and Worcestershire sauce for that tangy- almost smokey- sweetness. I seriously cannot get over the unique and delicious flavor of this sauce. It's crave worthy.
We love to dip sweet potato chips and french fries in this dip especially. Now, I usually am not a fan of sweet potato fries actually. Give me real good fries any day. But with this dip, sweet potato fries are AMAZING. I mean really, really, unbelievably good. It tastes amazing with regular fries too don't worry!
Making It
So this is super easy and simple to make. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and go to town!
Tips and Notes for French Fry Dipping Sauce
- Ketchup- get the good kind AKA not made with corn syrup. Ketchup is super sugary if you are getting the gross regular kind. Just check the labels and try to get some that doesn't have corn syrup and has good real ingredients. The taste difference is real.
- You can use normal vinegar or apple cider vinegar BUT rice vinegar has a really amazing tangy flavor that works the best in this sauce.
- Mix it with a whisk or a fork for a minute or 2 to get it really thoroughly incorporated and smooth.
- If you have the time, let it sit in the fridge in a Tupperware or container over night to get those flavors jiving real good together.
