If you are like me and need tasty things to bake while we all wait at home, then you need this delicious, super simple and quick, peanut butter banana oatmeal cookies recipe. My four year old could make this on her own it's so easy (obviously I would put it in the oven). Banana and peanut butter are a combo made in heaven, add in some oats and you have a cookie. These cookies are healthy enough to have for breakfast too... which is exactly when we ate most of them.
Healthy banana oatmeal cookies
What makes a healthy cookie also a tasty cookie? Sweetness and flavor combo.
If the flavor combo is the right one, you won't need as much (or any) sugar. The flavors themselves should take over.
That's why when you are making a healthier sweet treat- pick stronger flavors. Vanilla doesn't usually cut it by itself. You need so much more to fill the actual cookie.
Chocolate is always a solid choice. Peanut butter is amazing. Bananas are perfect for healthy baking especially. Why? Because of their consistency, versatility, and naturally sweet flavor. Perfect!
Health Benefits of Bananas
Bananas have loads of healthy attributes. They contain vitamin C, nutrients that help moderate blood sugar levels, and powerful antioxidants. Bananas also have manganese which is really good for your skin. They help you feel more full too which is what makes these cookies such good breakfast cookies.
No Flour Cookie recipes, No Problem
What about the flour? When you don't a cookie with flour (or you literally can't find any at the store these days), try oats. Oats are really good at binding it all together and adding some structure.
They are also nice and healthy. Like I said, you can definitely eat these cookies for breakfast.
