Who has made homemade granola before? There are so many different kinds around these days but this Walnut Tahini Homemade Granola is hands down our favorite. It has clusters for days, some chocolate if you want (umm yes, who doesn’t), and some dried blueberries for added flavor… I can’t say enough about how good this is. We make it almost every weekend!
Homemade granola is so easy to make and honestly I love it because one bag of each ingredient makes so many batches of granola. Store bought doesn't even compare in taste and you never get as much for the price. Homemade granola is a win win!
Ingredients:
Let's talk ingredients. Tahini is amazing. It is so versatile and can be used in baking just like peanut butter or almond butter, or even in sauces or granola! It's basically like almond butter but made from sesame instead of almond. So you get a slightly different nutty taste. We also make a lot of salad dressings with it (recipe for that coming soon- subscribe to get it when it goes live 😉 . But if you've never tried tahini, I highly recommend it. So so yummy! You can find it in the link on Amazon and you don't even have to go on a hunt through the store for it. Score!
Easy Granola:
So let’s go- easiest recipe! Start off with a nice big mixing bowl and preheat the oven to 250. This heat gives the granola a really nice toasty bake. Mix the oil (we like olive oil the best but hey, it all tastes amazing), honey, and tahini together to make sure it can be nice and evenly distributed throughout the oats and nuts. Stir the liquid mixture together with the oats and walnuts. We like the steel-cut oats the best in this recipe but rolled oats work well too. Steel-cut just makes it a bit more crunchy.
Spread the granola onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to bake in the oven for an hour and a half. While the granola is baking, every half hour or so stir it up a bit and spread it out evenly again. Basically, you’re just turning over some of it to make sure it all bakes evenly.
Customize:
Once the granola is done and nice and toasty, you can add some chocolate chips and dried blueberries, or really any dried fruit you like best. Our favorite is blueberry, it just goes so well with the chocolate and tahini. Give it a toss into the granola and pop it back into the oven for about 5 minutes just to let everything come together. Let your walnut tahini granola cool down completely and then enjoy the clusters, flavor, and easy deliciousness.
Use this easy walnut tahini granola to top ice cream, yogurt, smoothies, pour milk in, and enjoy as cereal in the morning. Honestly, I just eat it by the handful as my munchy snack most of the time. Enjoy!
